2018 Winter Outfit Must Haves
When thinking of cold weather, this Ron Swanson quote comes to mind: “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate means of transportation.” LoL.
For the sake of this post, I’m relating this quote to clothing, rather than means of transportation. I feel like in High School I hated the cold weather, mainly because I didn’t dress for it. It was literally only cool to wear a scarf with maybe a vest while dashing through the parking lot into 1st period. I had a lot of cute scarves then.
Now, I want to be extra prepared because I hate being cold, plus there are so many cute jackets & sweaters to layer with! I put together a few of my favorite budget-friendly trends to help stay adequately warm this season:
The Mercantile Coat from J. Crew
If you want to feel like an adult with their sh*t together, this coat is for you. These coats seem to be a staple at J. Crew, I’ve had my eye on one for a few years now. I just purchased the gray and love the fur hood, length & deep pockets! (50% off @ our J. Crew Outlet, woop!) I also saw that Target has a knock-off as well.
Ridiculous Fluffy Pullovers
Pictured below, I literally googled “cozy sweatshirt” and this one from Nordstrom popped up. I love the colors & the fact that it’s a 1/4 zip sweatshirt! I hope these don’t go out of style soon.
I was on a mission to find a plaid scarf this season - literally found a buffalo check one at Target’s dollar spot for $7. It was a happy lunch break that day. I love how they look with a sweater dress…also at Target. *I couldn’t find the one I bought in store, but these are cute here.
Over-sized sweatshirts for Leggings
If you’re like me and missed the Aerie obsession after high school, girl now is the time. They make some awesome quality sweatshirts (and underwear!) I bought a few of these sweatshirts this season that are advertised as “perfect for leggings”. They are light weight, great for layering, and also covers your bottom. I’ve washed mine a few times & it hasn’t shown much wear, plus in true Aerie fashion, they had a ton of fun colors to choose from.
Hats with Poms
Let’s be honest, I want poms on everything this year, including my tree skirt and head. Love this one from Express!
